Colours

The colours can be as simple as what you see here, or blend a few to make it just right for you. There are a few notes to take into consideration, and all options will be discussed prior to order starting, but please read carefully so you know the differences.

  • Although many colours have the same name, they are different shades of that colour. Use the title as a guide only, and check if it’s the PAINT or PEN version you want.
  • In the images with two colours, the PEN is at the top, PAINT is at the bottom.
  • Not all colours have both paint and pen options. These are specified with individual images.
  • Colours applied by PAINT brush result in a shorter, more individual patterning, and also takes longer to complete.
  • PAINTS have the added bonus of blending to create new colours, as seen on the pastel pink cup and saucersĀ
  • PENS create longer, thinner, cleaner, more intertwined patterns, and are the preferred choice. Without specification, these colours will be used instead of the paint equivalent.
  • PENS are a set colour, and cannot be combined to create new shades. They can easily be used in concert with another colour, as seen with many of the garden platters.
  • Given the different effect of the PAINT and PEN, it is not recommended the colours be used together in the patterning technique. The exception to this is the use of one style of colour for highlights or inclusions (flowers, hearts, fish, etc), and the other for the pattern.
