HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

Please allow two weeks, excluding postage, for each piece to be completed. Postage time will vary based on speed selected- default will be standard shopping to keep prices down. Express is available at an extra cost.

WHAT DETAILS CAN BE INCLUDED?
Names, initials, birthdates/anniversaries/special dates, activities and hobbies, logos from organisations they’re involved with, seasonal details, festive details, children/grandchildren/any family member names, etc can all be added for effect and will be hidden in the work, so every time you look at it you’ll find something new. Many of these will be drawn in an abstract way, so you’ll need to look closely for them. If you would like the details to be visible, just let me know and I’m more than happy to accommodate.

IS IT SAFE TO WASH?
The paint is dishwasher proof, but for longevity I recommend a gentle hand-wash only.
Please be cautious if electing a pattern that uses the high-use area of the piece, ie the centre of a platter or plate, or the lip of a cup, as the paint may fade over time.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PEN AND BRUSH?
Pens provide long, thin, even lines, but have set colours that cannot be combined. Brush application results in shorter, broader strokes that don’t integrate as well and the pieces take much longer to finish.

CAN I HAVE CUSTOM COLOURS?
See the ‘Colours’ link above for more information and breakdown of the glass/ceramic colour options.

Glass/Ceramics

This largely comes down to which colour you want, and the final effect of the piece. Pens provide long, thin, even lines, but have set colours that cannot be combined. Paints applied with brushes, can be customised, however for the sake of colour consistency this is recommended for small areas only. Brush application results in shorter, broader strokes that don’t integrate as well and the pieces take much longer to finish.

Originals and Prints

Absolutley! Original pieces done by request have a huge potential for custom colour work, and all efforts will be made to achieve the requested colour/colour scheme.

Original pieces done by Chimoco Design are sold as is, and any prints that come from them cannot be colour-altered.

WHAT IF I WANT A DIFFERENT SHAPE TO THE ONE SHOWN?
Every piece is done as requested, so best efforts will be made to get as close to size or shape desired. If you would like a different shape to the one shown, all you need to do is ask!
By default and where possible, ceramics are Maxwell & Williams brand, which means there is a high chance of consistency, but as with any product line certain ranges may only be available for a certain time. Vases are usually 20-30cm tall, but can vary in overall shape.

CAN I SUPPLY MY OWN PRODUCT?
Yes you can! As long as the piece is ovenproof, and no larger than 40cm x 40cm x  20cm, then it can be used. Please note, however, that if the piece has been used before/regularly, Chimoco Design takes no responsibility for oven safety or paint longevity. Scratches, cracks, stains etc will all affect the overall application and sealing of the work.  In the event of a breakage in the oven, full payment for the work will still be applicable.
While you will save on the supply of the product, any costs incurred by getting it to Chimoco Design are the responsibility of the Client.
